I created this work especially for Remember What Binds You, a Thomas & Maloney exhibition that was part of Brighton Photo Fringe 2020.

The idea was to create something that connected with Maloney’s work—so our pieces could flow together and feel part of the same story. I drew inspiration from her exploration of domestic photo albums made by women—an often overlooked and undervalued art form.

Featuring portraits of my maternal and paternal grandmothers within my domestic space, the work reflects on memory, heritage, and the quiet strength of women whose stories are too often left untold.
