I created this work specifically for the Thomas & Maloney exhibition Remember What Binds You, part of the Brighton Photo Fringe 2020. The aim was to create a crossover between our works, allowing them to merge and contribute to the exhibition’s overall flow. My piece draws inspiration from Maloney’s exploration of domestic photo albums created by women—an art form often overlooked and undervalued. These images feature my maternal and paternal grandmothers, captured in my domestic space, reflecting the personal and intimate nature of memory, heritage, and the experiences of overlooked women.
